This is at the top of Thaba Bosiu. I’m with some of the local children from the village that is at the base of the mountain. Pretty much every male in Lesotho carries a stick with them. I erroneously thought it was simply a walking stick because everyone walks everywhere in rural Lesotho. However, Odi, much to my dismay and highlighting my naivete, informed me that boys are taught at a young age how to stick fight and to carry a stick with them at all times.
